Just saw a pretty interesting and unusual chess puzzle and fell into the trap. :)
White to move and win.
8/6n1/6K1/P7/7B/5k1p/8/8 w - - 0 1
http://www.chessvideos.tv/bimg/4iywtk1o8dus0.pngI really thought it was easy... but I completely overlooked the twist at the end (shown to me by SF)
Very nice!
Btw.:
8/6n1/6K1/P7/7B/5k1p/8/8 w - - 0 1
You guys are way too high rated to be surprised by the skewer. Whats the twist?
Try to solve it and you will find out.
Maybe you can clue me in. I don't get it. I thought black could do no better than queen a pawn and immediately loose it, like
1. a6 h2
2. a7 h1=Q
3. 8a=Q+ K any
4. Qxh1
Where is that trap?
@InsaneMXQ , what does lichess have Studies for?
didnt saw the stalemate at the end. Then understood you need to make a bishop instead of queen. Nice chess puzzle :)
Thank you for spoiling it for everyone who did not do it yet. :/
@JunoCunerino Nobody wants to spoil the trick, but black doesn't have to play that way. Set the position up against Stockfish level 8 and try it yourself.
@Allonautilus Check today's date :)
yes,
@tomerari please edit your post, dont spoil it :-)
