Blitz is All About Nerves

When you move slower, so do they!

I don't pre-move in any of my games even when the re-capture is forced. They expect a fast reply, but this "lag" transfers over to their mental processing time!

I've also lost matches this way. I am just about to let go of the mouse when the *boop* comes up.

I would highly suggest and recommend taking between 1.5 and 2.0 seconds in blitz — even if there's no increment. You may notice Carlsen in his Banter Blitz: He doesn't see the time until there's about 18-25 seconds, then there's classic "Uh oh, I'm low on time!" comment. He begins playing as if he were in Berserk Boss mode. This change in pace psyches his opponents out.

I also experience the same.
The reason is that if one takes time to think for a move and then plays then there is an effect on opponent, who wonders as to why its opponent took time and so, it also takes time.
In fact, I don't premove unless my opponent has forced move as earlier I lost some matches due to premoving in a middle game with many options.

Huh? I always play the opponent/position. Not the clock. I could care less if i lose on time. I n fact, i feel better when i lose on time, but have a winning position than when i get destroyed with 3 minutes still on the clock.

I play quickly in blitz, you need to be efficient with your moves as well, I like complicated positions in blitz because my opponent has to spend that time thinking on it, and can cause to lose the majority of your time. I wouldn't recommend playing openings that you are not familiar with, that can result in complications that you're not aware about. My advice, is to just play solid and defend every attack, also look for tactics.

Yes, I like to blitz out my first ten moves playing a solid opening like the KID as Black, or KIA as White. @PurePremiumPenguin

My advice, try to take my king under arrest, or myself will arrest yours :-)

No, it's not nerves. You rely on intuition and experience. That makes a strong blitz player.

yeah earlier i had thinking skills in chess but because of blitz time control 3+0 i am becoming out of thinking skills most of the thinking skills i have lost
