Why do not people play at their own pace?

Frustration. People who do not know what they want leaves me perplexed. Too often I play with people who leave the game after a few minutes. "I have to go" "You are too slow". If you have any commitments or do you love fast races, why accept a 90 + 30 game? I also wrote it on the profile, I like to play long races, they give me a lot more satisfaction.
In this way they waste time and make it lose to me. And they also offer you a draw not to lose. And I do not accept it, am I wrong?
Well, I occasionally do have sudden urgent matters I weren't expecting to have when the game started. If that happens, I just resign and apologize.
But "you're too slow" guys are funny indeed. I tend to start playing even slower, just to annoy them, usually.
Sorry to hear you have had to put up with that. I could understand and respect a genuine "Sorry, I really have to go", with maybe a quick reason given as well, because sometimes things do come up unexpectedly. However, I think you should still try to do your best to make sure you have the time available for the match you are about to start. At the end of the day you are not playing against a computer but rather a human who's dedicating time out of their life to play with you, and they would like to play a match to a proper finish.

"You are too slow" however is just plain disrespectful and immature and that shouldn't be tolerated. I think it's very rude to mention anything about someone's speed of play. Why on earth would you join a classical time control game if you really want to play rapid or blitz!
If you want a long game. Go to the lichess4545 league or the lonewolf. This way you can get 2 games per week against a serious opponent of your level.
I agree - it's frustrating. Don't accept long time controls if you're not willing to play long time controls.
Have you considered playing correspondence chess instead of live?
Thanks for your answers. Fortunately, these situations usually happen at the beginning of the game, so I have time to organize other races. Today, however, I took three in a row so patience. I believe that "too slow" is a form of psychological pressure, which, moreover, has no effect on me. As long as the conversation is polite you can always choose to answer or turn off the chat .

#killf7 i started play chess with correspondence games of many hours , that's because i'm still so slow :)
@OnlyStupidNamesLeft
Hey Pal - thanks for taking the last non-stupid name leaving the rest of us with just the stupid names.

(seriously onlystupidnamesleft is awesome)
@killF7 Sure, glad to be of help!
Actually, that meant that "All the names I wanted are occupied, so only stupid ones are left for me".
Not sure how this is relevant to the discussion, but okay.
