it took me this while to realize this was a to be troll post

Recently I had a captcha where I had to look it up. I haven't spot immediadetly who's turn it is and in which direction the pawns move... :o

@Sarg0n for me, it shows who's turn it is. "White plays"



Since you know who is playing, you know which direction the pawns are moving.

Even if you didn't, I think the captcha gives you a few tries. So you could find the checkmate in 1 for white, and if that doesn't work it's either not checkmate, or you should find the checkmate for black.
