crazyhouse chess ( it is just a quick question)

so I was playing crazyhouse chess with my friend and then she promoted her pawn to a queen (so now she has 2 queens) I took the queen with my rook so am I not supposed to get a queen in my box?

No, you still get a pawn, but you can promote it on your own later!

You still get a pawn because the pawn although promoted is still a pawn at heart.
