Hi,
why has the option to move pieces around freely in the post-match analysis mode been disabled for the variants Antichess, Three-Check and Atomic?
This was a really comfortable way to try out other possible variants etc.
I assume it's to prevent you from moving pieces into impossible positions which would bamboozle the engine.
Yeah the engine can only analyse normal chess, but if you want to go and analize these variants on your own you can use the board editor, just make sure you save the position/dont close the log.
PLease make the opportunity to analyse in variants too. Is that really so hard to do? Come on, Lichess Team, it is an easy work for you. Your programming skillz are such incredible, you will do this eazy.
Yeah they are good programmers but there isn't enough info about variant games to make a good analysis software like Stockfish is.And making that kind of program needs a lot of work, so i really think it's not going to happen any time soon. Some light program that could show blunders maybe, but full analysis is really hard to achieve.
But please understand, that we are asking not for computer analysis, but only user analysis, with just an ability to move pieces by yourself, analysing long lines. You can do this in regular chess, but in variants you can not.
Ooohh, sorry I misinterpeted. Well in that case, it should be doable, at least for KoTH and 3+. But until it gets done, you can save games and repeat them in board editor. It is a bit of more work, but it will have to do for now :)
