No country would "win" a global war. Humanity would likely render itself extinct (alongside many other innocent species). Perhaps (although doubtful) some remote islands would remain to be somewhat habitable. Perhaps some life in the depths of the oceans would be resilient enough to survive a global nuclear war and the ensuing nuclear winter.
But certainly all of humanity's achievements would be forsaken, the wonders of the world annihilated, all of our efforts and all of our toil would go to waste.
A global (nuclear) war would be one species's vain and egocentric murder–suicide. The ultimate atrocity, the most barbaric gift of humanity.
