Realize your Opponents faults

Hey, I have got a problem. I always see simple tactical mistakes of my Opponent with one exception. Sometimes I don't realize that my Opponent haven't responded to a thread or simply placed an undefended piece in front of my piece. I could simply capture the piece but I don't realize it. If I have to use a fork or something like this to win the piece I would see it. I tried to focus on this, but after a few games I forgot it an it could happen again. Do you have any tipps?
Simplify your thinking - always check for hanging pieces, checks or captures before thinking about other tactical patterns or strategies. Try and make it a habit.
If my opponent hangs their piece with enough confidence, I also often don't notice that, because I don't expect my opponent to make a mistake so simple. I think if I concentrated more on the game, I would make fewer mistakes for sure.
your goal should be that anything undefended is glaring to you, don't look at anything else until you have that clear.
