General real-time chat room.

If you feel that a general-chat real-time room would be a good thing,please indicate here,and if there is enough interest,we might be able to convince the admin. to create same.
The concept is that you can just say hello,and talk about the weather etc. without the need to find and follow a given particular thread.

This turns quickly into hell, every couple of minutes. I would never ever install oder moderate a chat.

There should be something like that to chat with each other in real-time without having to go to a tournament or a simul.

This is a public forum thus I spread my experience with chat rooms. As a mod I got some experience with such things.

I cannot recommend, never. The negative things prevail. It's a constant source of serious discord. A large liability and a constant distraction for the poor staff. They should be busy maintaining the site as it is.

@bunyip I do agree with you, the chat thingy would be real good and lichess would feel more alive... and i don't understand what @Sarg0n just said in @2..

@Sarg0n is saying that such chat rooms tend to decay into a mess after a short time - this happens a lot elsewhere so why would a chess site necessarily be different? It's also a pain to moderate since things move so quickly.

I played on ICC for ten years...They have live chat with multiple channels. I would say that it created a segregated environment on the site. ICC has been described as being "Clannish" I think that the live chat contributed to that. :]

I am going to get personal because I have enough of you bunyip. The how many times I have read your provocative answers along with other trolls on this site: this is not fun anymore. To tell you the truth, you are such a hypocrite. You are the one, who is popular of trashing threads. I personaly do not take your answers seriously because you're the biggest troll here on Lichess. You are a person of no respect and no good manners. Well, I hope I said it clear enough. Oh, and about your chat-trash-idea please do us a favor and go somewhere else to do that. This site remains a decent place I hope.
