Magnus Carlsen 26th Sept. statement

This behavior, that is to accuse the opponent without proof even though he has not even accused openly but it is clear that we are talking about cheating, will slowly and inexorably lead to the end of agonism in chess. Who will go to tournaments with the fear of finding a cheater? And again: who losing to an opponent on the weakest card will not get caught by the desire to accuse? the world champion did it, why shouldn't I do it? Or even worse: those who want to play to win even against strong players or masters by demonstrating their talent of nascent talent when they will see themselves accused by the master that in reality the game is not their own thing but will have cheated even if they have played honestly but will it not be believed? All this will lead to the death of chess, which in the future will be only one of many computer video games such as solitaire or minefield, no one will try their hand at live, much less online.
lol you must be one of those people to whom everything looks black.

Cheer up!!! it's never as bad you think. The sun will come up tomorrow
The sun will rise behind the clouds. :)

If a captured pawn or piece is hidden (out of the line of site). Is it cheating or unethical?
Can it cause distractions to your opponent? Yes, I think so. It would annoy me.

Page 14 _ Article 12.6 ... forbidden to distract or annoy the opponent in any manner whatsoever.

Of course Magnus has to justify his bad form by doubling down. His ego could not handle it. Sad really... this trashes chess.

Bad form? Have you watched any of his recent games? Man.. that's some of the best chess he has ever played.
He could not handle playing someone he already thinks of as very fishy, so this contributed to his "bad play" in St Louis

Hmm, but what if some of the Young Turk GMs felt it necessary to sandbag against Carlsen?

I certainly thought the recent final was a bit strange. How do you get to a final with only one loss and lose seven games on the trot whilst the opponent pleads, he is not playing well? Smelt a bit.

Till this matter is closed, there is going to be a few up-and-coming Elite GMs hopefuls fearful of being 'witched' by Carlsen and his Old Guard.
