You probably turned on ZEN mode, which removes anything surrounding the chess board except the clock and the move forward/backward toggle.

To clarify, it works on my desktop but fails on my Android.

I think it's fixed.
I'm also still unable to move pieces.
I just tried clearing the Chrome cache and force-stopping it.
But I don't yet know if that worked because LiChess put me on time out for abandoning games.
I guess it's back to that other site for me.

Clearing Chrome's cache and force-stopping the Chrome app, then re-starting, seems to have worked.
Clearing the cache worked for me as well.
