What was the first opening you learned and do you still play it?

For me it was the French defense but I am considering trying something else now as the exchange really annoys me.
I play French too, learned it as a kid.
Other openings I played but don't (much) any more:
1.e4 e5 2.Bc4 Nc6 3.d4
1.e4 e5 2.d4

Before you give up on the French completely, maybe give c5 a chance?

1.e4 e6
2.d4 d5
3.cxd5 exd5
4.Nf3 Nf6
5.Bd3 c5!?

Leads to interesting and slightly unbalanced positions, unlike a lot of lines in the Exchange.
when i was kid(iam still 14) i learned hte italian.now i played but not often.
Bird's, Alekhine, and Stonewall. Today, some 30 years later, I play the Max Lange, Sicilian Accelerated Dragon, and Noteboom. I play almost any opening when playing less than 30 minutes.
when I was 9-10, many people in my age were playing the Colle-Zukertort. Now it is out of fashion but I play it.

As a kid I started with white 1.e4 Later I played 1.d4 for years at chessclubs and tourneys. Now I'm back to mainly 1.e4 (After a FM recommended me to play it because of my playing style) though I like some variety.
As black, as a kid, I probably started with Sicilian and King's Indian but I moved to, mainly, other openings now.
Regarding the French Exchange, have a look at Tatai-Korchnoi for inspiration. If I remember correctly it was a miniature where white got swept off the board.
The first opening I "learned" was the Ruy Lopez exchange variation. Black's pawns are doubled, how can I lose?! I no longer play this opening.

I played the Bishop's Gambit for most of my scholastic chess life after I fell in love with the quick attacks, and the ...Qh4+ Kf1 maneuver. I gave it up a year ago when I took a look at the mountain of actual theory involved.

The first opening I really learned (studied) was the Nf6 Scandinavian. I still play it, since white usually chickens out and gives easy equality instead of playing the critical 3.d4 lines.
When I first learnt chess as a kid and was very uninterested, on my own I discovered HowCast's video on the Sicilian Najdorf and remembered the small line they showed. I play Caro Kann now. When I got back into chess I took up the Queen's Gambit and use it to this day. It's a very interesting question that you've asked. :)
"I use the Queen's Gambit and use it to this day". I also learned the QG when I started chess (7 years). And made the most success with it. I still play it sometimes but I mainly play the Scotch and/or Italian Gambit. As Black I play Sicilian Dragon and Classical :P
