Request: Do not remove banned/deleted players from arena history

Arena history is history. I can't understand why Lichess remove banned/account deleted player from arena page and result (but not removing their games in download games).

If they cheat to get to some place, why not just put them to the end of the ranking list and/or give them a "cheat mark", as alarm to others?
If they not cheat and just closed the account, there's more no reason to remove them from the history.

It will be misleading as rankings change so frequently, and new rankings is not corresponding to the trophies given to players...
Neither FIDE or Chess-results deleted Kirill Shevchenko and his scores from previous tournament list after he was caught certain cheat. Nor have I heard they did this to any banned or banished player. Results are part of history.

I really cannot understand why Lichess want to wipe out the tournament history for banned/deleted players....please stop doing so.
I'm pretty sure they're only removed if they're banned during the tournament. In which case their games are invalid and should be disregarded.

You see deleted and banned accounts in old arenas. For example, the 31st in lichess.org/tournament/summer15 is not only still there despite being banned, their profile even still has the marathon top 50 trophy!

No. They are continuously removed now in a long period AFTER the tournament is over.

lichess.org/tournament/winter24
Now this arena has 25257/25275 players, 18 removed. You can come back several days later and see how many still remains.

Cheaters (but not other ToS violators, AFAIK) are removed from finished tournaments in the last 30 days before the ban. They keep their tournament points and even marathon trophies, though.

Removing cheaters' tournament results is more recent than that, see github.com/lichess-org/lila/issues/4319. Originally only the tournament results of the last 3 days were erased, but later it was extended to 30 days.
Okay, in that case I think it'd be better to keep them in the standings but anonymized as <Removed> instead of the account name.

I find @simwin23 who get their account deleted disappeared from last autumn arena too. Not sure whether he cheated or get banned before delete; from the game exported I didn't see much signal of cheat, but he suspiciously drawed a lot of very short games just after opening.
So maybe other kind of ToS count too.

Even if someone cheated, I think it is better to leave his information on board marked with cheat. Currently wiping cheaters out but not depriving their trophies, cause confusion, because latter decent players behind them now get promoted place but do not get a trophy compensation...
Closed accounts without a ToS mark are not removed from tournaments, even if the user closes the account while the tournament is still ongoing.
