@Mate_On_f7 What do you mean ? White moves must be forced ? How is that the case in ab_lk's solution ? Or black moves ? (same ?) I don't get it.

@lecw that means that in your submission black can choose variants which don't lead to a forced checkmate in 5 moves by white.

(This is another puzzle [Chapter 2 of smothered mate])

Promote to a knight (not queen because you lose), don't capture anything with the pawns, but capture with your knight the f7 rook to give MATE!!!!

@ab_lk Thanks for explaining. Care to show me one ? That seems pretty obviously false.

@lecw stockfish gives checkmate in 30 moves, may be a bug or something cuz I can't find a variation which doesn't lead to a checkmate in 5... Maybe you're right tho

@ab_lk if you press "+" it finds the mate in 5. It's not rocket science, one side pushes the pawn while the other side can't do anything about it.

If you want all black moves to be forced if he wants to last 5 moves then :
