Is it just me?

Or is Rapid 1600-1700 rife with cheats right now? I've noticed many incredible turn arounds from opponents recently. I'm at the point of giving up on Lichess, as it is getting very hard to find a fair game right now, and reporting cheats seems to get thoroughly ignored.
I have been playing on Lichess for over 5 years... thousands of games with multiple accounts and have come across a cheat maybe a half dozen times. It happens from time to time and Lichess always finds them out... your points lost are returned.
So just because your opponents are winning games by sometimes surprising upsets, you assume they are cheating?
What makes you so certain they are cheating?

Do they have a long gap then play first choice moves for a period of time until the game has turned around?

Players have been banned for doing that kind of thing.

It's a feature of online chess that you'll against come up against a player using an engine, but most of the time you won't, and you should try enjoying your chess and trying to improve.

Seems to be the current fad, doesn't it?

Speaking as someone in the 1700-ish range in rapid and classical, no...I have not noticed the site to be "rife with cheaters."
