I was just curious if anyone knows of the fastest king checkmate. So far, this is my best attempt:
1. e4 Nf6 2. Ke2 Nd5 3. exd5 h5 4. Qe1 Rh6 5. d6 exd6 6. d3 Ke7 7. Bg5+ Rf6 8. Kd1#
fastest "win" I had was 8 seconds --- opponent resigned on first move. I guess that's similar to a King checkmate.

The shortest one is fools mate, 1 f3 e5 2 g4 Qh4#
