Lichess is unfair to players from regions with poor Internet connection!!!

Hi Lichess,
I enjoy playing on your platform,

However, I wish to draw your attention to what I can only perceive as an unfair design flaw. This occurs when I am in a game and my Internet link begins to time out. If my Internet times out for a certain number of seconds, Lichess aborts the game much to my horror. In some cases, Lichess goes ahead to even ban me for about 17 minutes. This abort happens regardless of the time control for the game: 1 -min bullet, 3 or 5-min Blitz, or even 10-min Rapid.

Here in Africa where I live, we still have great number of areas with unstable Internet network and at some times, especially in remote villages, the network is so bad, there are bound to be occasional timeouts which may recover after 1 minute.

It is painful to loose a game you are ups, just cos your Internet timed out for less than a minute, its even more painful when you get banned afterwards for no fault of yours.

I pray Lichess considers increasing or varying the lenght of time the engine waits before aborting a game, something like half the time of the full time-control per game. Or whatever they consider best that would put into consideration this fact that Internet in Africa is still very terrible in many areas.

Here's my link at some of such times: On this particular occassion, I lost a game to a very low rated player. Very Painful.

Thanking you in advance.
Blame your ISP, not how the internet works, even less to a single webpage.
Lichess can't be blamed if your Internet connection is bad. I'm sorry it is bad.
Nigeria has one of the fastest growing Economies in the World ... In order to get better internet you will have to pay the price like in any economy ... I will say good luck sometimes gets more capital/money & perseverance will get you there . I wish you @Faidei well
This isn’t a Nigeria only problem. Many areas of the US lack stable net connection as well. This will change with time, and more money. Wish you well.

Why would this pledge be ignored ? It seems _very_ easy to implement this.

Pointing to Faideis bad internet connection is arrogant by those who have a better one.
I'm pretty sure the entire Internet is unfair to regions with poor internet connection.
I feel sad about your internet connection issues. But it depends on the government on spending their budget on building better virtual infrastructure. Best hopes and wishes to you. Hope your internet gets stronger and stronger!

I saw an article of a guy complaining about the bad internet in rural area somewhere in the US, he decided to fix it and made its own internet service company.

I live in a well populated part of the US. The infrastructure is very old and outdated. I can get nothing but satellite service. Many within just six miles of me cannot get that! Cheers for him!
