How do I get better at thinking quickly?

I'm a beginner player. If you take a look at my ratings, it's clear that I'm alright at puzzles (score almost 2000) and correspondence chess but then, the less time I have, the worse I get (I'm even below 1200 in blitz).

Is that normal for beginner players? How do I get better at thinking/calculating faster?
Focus on accuracy and speed comes naturally. Also there is some mouse skill required, that comes with practice.
First crawl, then walk, then run.
Stay away from blitz and bullet until you get stronger in classical and rapid.
Blitz is not about calculating, it is about reflexes and pattern recognition and that comes with experience gained in longer time controls.
Thanks. I guess I wanted to try blitz because I figured that way I'd get experience making decisions under time pressure and actually finishing games. I'll try 10+10 and 15+15.
