sometimes I have big difficulties to castle, though I know how to do it and watch if my castling is still possible.
I mean, sometimes, I have to click many times on the king and on the rook (as usual) to manage to castle. Last time I tried maybe ten times. Fortunately I only play slow games, but all the same it's very annoying.
I don't know if other players have that problem or if it comes from my computer.

I have same problem with my iPad also. Don't know if it's device or mobile-connection that makes it bad. Maybe bad connection?
On the rook? You don't have to click the rook to castle.
Don't pre-move, then it should work fine.
Castling while pre-moving has a known bug.
i never pre-move castling, it's no use in slow games.
I have noticed recently that, when I click slowly on the king, then on the rook (yes, elkaoD, you must click on the rook to castle, otherwise nothing happens or only your king will move), castling works much better. Maybe it's a solution
Playing a different game is not the only solution. :/
To play chess properly all you have to do is drag the King from K1 to N1 or QB1, while it's your turn to play and not your opponent's, then it should castle properly.
Though I don't usually do the clicks method of moving anymore like you do, so I'm not sure if you're facing some sort of bug with that in particular.
Or, you're behind some sort of crappy Internet that's even worse than mine, and you are in fact using the pre-move feature without actually intending on it or realizing it.
