No more take-backs.

I am no longer going to offer take-backs. Up to this point I have been accepting take-back requests, assuming the opponent had a mouse-slip. I have no problem with someone correcting a mouse slip, it happens to me sometimes too. However, too often when I accept a take-back, the opponent moves a completely different piece. That's not correcting a mouse-slip, that's correcting a mistake. From now on I'm not accepting any take-backs from anyone.
You can always ask if its a mouse-slip instead of assuming.
Turn off then.

Just don't complain if you slip by accident and your opponent does not want to takeback...
I always ask for takebacks but from now
i shall turn on move confirmation
And why this announcement, @Daniel-J-Steevens? Do what you like.
Whatever you do, you will encounter those who accuse you on poor sportmanship if you deny takebacks.
Wise descision. Takebacks don't exist in real chess. If I make a mouse slip, I accept it.
But the real reason to not deal in take back is not because people might abuse the gesture, but because it makes for sloppy and unrealistic chess.
@celinofj - No I won't complain if I slip. From this point on I will no longer be asking for take-backs. Turning off take-backs, and then asking my opponent for a take-back, seems more than a little unfair and hypocritical to me.

@Sybotes - Why the announcement? Is that a question for a grown man to ask? This is a forum for talking about chess, and that's exactly what I'm doing. I'm giving my point of view on a chess related subject, hopefully provoking thought and feedback from other players.

As for sportsmanship, well, too many players are displaying poor sportsmanship and have ruined it for the rest. There's nothing I can do about players who choose to use the take-back feature in this way. As I see it the only option I have is to withdraw from the tack-back system completely. If in the future if I am accused of poor sportsmanship for not offering a take-back, I will link them to this forum post so they can read my explanation and reasoning. If they still choose to accuse me of poor sportsmanship, well, I don't care.

@HARDlyWorKING - Yes I agree with you completely. There are no take-backs in real chess. I liken a mouse-slip to dropping a piece as you attempt to play your move OTB. As you drag your piece, or click the destination square, it is possible to let go or click too early or late. That's why if someone asks for a take-back I expect them to play the same piece.

I thought that a mouse-slip was the main reason, pretty much the only reason, that Lichess provides a take-back feature. However, it seems many others disagree and are happy to use take-backs to correct their mistakes. I suppose in games with longer time controls, you could ask your opponent which piece they are planning to play and to what square if granted a take-back, and from their answer decide whether to accept or reject the take-back request. However, in games with shorter time controls this wouldn't be practical.
I accept everyone's takeback but when I offer one , all of them are arrogant . Till now only 2 have accepted my takebacks . Most of the the people that offered one and then didn't accept mine ended up getting defeated
