When do you think you will be ready to face Magnus Carlsen on the chessboard ?
Even top GMs lose against Carlsen in miniatures.

I'd say better grab your chances while you can.
Playing in real life against the current world champion chess is too cool to miss. You might learn a thing or two from him, be inspired and have fun.

And since Magnus seems to like football and is super fit, why not make it a combined friendly chess / football match ? :)

@achja I dont have a specific date for that, but i will discuss it further with my friend and perhaps i can email or talk to magnus beforehand if possible, because frankly im quite nervous about it.

and regarding your question, its because idk i think id feel ashamed if i was crushed right from the start, its logical to wanna improve before facing one of your idols.

Yes I also love soccer, so I definitely wouldnt mind the combo :)

I do understand your concern. A GM once visited Bobby Fischer, and lost all of the blitz games they played, and he could not really understand why. It was a depressing experience for this GM.
However, I have learned a lot from playing countless blitz games in otb chess. That is possible in a friendly atmosphere where the players talk, and where nothing is at stake.

You could even make it 4 games blitz-chess / 4 games anti-chess (Which you seem to be a GM at!) / 4 games football.

I predict you will at least draw this match ! :)

Magnus will quickly realise you're just a Karjakin spy and promptly will refuse.

@Dragon-Lord You will never be better prepared to play Carlsen than you are now. Why wait?

Would be great if Magnus could do a simul on lichess.

just wait a few weeks study openings and settle down so the adrenaline doesnt ruin anything,just try to play a solid game and take your little advantages and you should be fine :)
