Shield for under 2000

What do you mean by shield?

Its a good thing but if i want i can just put down my rating im around 2000 and i could more easly have a shield but why not

You see.....now I am thinking.... there is no a tournament such as elite arena but for under 2000.... It could be like..... Monthly or weekly.... I dont know

If you make normal tournaments last for 4 hours than you might get the turnout similar to a shield tournament.
Call it with a new name to avoid confusion, like: Stable Season.
Stable as in rating is stable, Rating deviation ≤ 60.00 (That's 50% of a provisional rating).
Get the regulars playing together. Use the Member since date to enter the tournament.
Change the minimum rating criteria to 3 months instead of a week for more rating stability.

Entry requirements:
Member since: > 3 months.
Rated ≤ 2000 in Blitz for the last 3 months !
≤ Rating deviation of 60

5+3 • Blitz • 4 hours
Rated • Arena
No Berserk allowed

As your suggestion the suggestion is good. But under 2000 would be better by the way.

#16 you still haven't solved the problems mentioned in #2 #3 #6
Thats the main issue here

changing it to 3 months of below 2000 stops most sandbaggers but not new accounts that only need to play a few games plus
the defender problem still exsits.

Also this whole thing raizes the questions of what are shields now and what will they be afterwords
as right now having a shield means that at some point you proved that you were best in x variant or time control
now you want to change it that shields mean you either the best or best at below 2000 does not really make sense
so prop would have to have a new trophy type for this.
