Looking for a 'do all' defense? Might consider the Black Lion. It's even fine after e4 or d4 by White; and it's very likely to take them out of book.
Do you have a Black Lion defense game you'd like to show? Many say it's a subpar defense, but it's a great all round defense against almost any opening, below 2000.
GM Williams, feel free to join us. I just played my first perfect Black Lion; and it squeaked in as a miniature. He resigned move 20.
Opponent was trying to run some weird opening called Van't Kruij - the nerve! I didn't recognize what he was doing, so went immediately to the deadly Black Lion!
Who do you like after move 8 by Black? (game is actually dead even)
My move 10, hitting the e5 square to push pawn for a fork, but he panicked and surprised me. Then he panicked more.
Remember, Black Lion FANS only. Those that play it or would like to learn it.
