Is it good to learn new openings? And goodbye!

I am @Knight04's account to learn new openings. Someone said I should try to learn the Sicilian and French instead of 1... E5. But nowadays many people tell me it is better to stick to one opening. So I will be saying goodbye to you all.

But are they right? Should I play different openings to confuse opponents or should I stick to the same opening?
I think, that if you have a bigger opening repotoire, you might also have an opening your opponent is not prepared for. For example, if you constantly play e5, your opponent might be confused if you play the Sicilian. The same is when you get an opening against you, you should be prepared for it. I think a bigger opening book in your head is better than just sticking to one opening.
I think it's good to learn openings. but learn the opening you like and it takes you to the position you wanted . Don't choose openings randomly . Learn some of the most positions in [ white] king's pawn openings and queen's pawn . Don't try to choose the main line because many opponents already know the main line so try using the sidelines . Good luck if your doing!

What type of player are you? like attacking or defensive or [ solid/positional]
Personally I only play 2 openings with white and even then not competently as there are so many options to try and remember.. I’m working on two for black but again with only a few slight variations… against better players it can unravel very quickly but against equal players I’m in with a chance providing they blunder more than I do.

I think someGM said they’d have a harder time against someone who’s played one opening 1000 times than someone who knew a few moves in 1000 openings. So I’ll stick with two and just try to improve with them.
