Quick query about takebacks.

Most of the commenters including you @Tangelo777 cite bad behaviour from opponent as a reason to disable takebacks, that's entirely your right to do so, you might find it a cleaner using experience. But you have restricted yourself to try and filter out the effects of playing bad mannered people, they can still imploy other bad tempered tactics like leaving the game going to go to another tab not giving you the option to claim victory.

Many things in this life aren't necessary, it doesn't make them not worthwhile, if someone can gain satisfaction from studying a game with an opponent in real time and it helps them learn, that's a good enough reason to have it around.

For the reasons cited in always_yes_takebacks comment, takebacks can be a useful tool in helping filter out misclicks that would never have happened playing in real life, a problem specific to playing online.

There is no one right answer that could work for everyone, its simply up to you to make an informed decision on what would make for the most satisfactory, interesting and challenging user experience. Hopefully the reasoning provided could go some way to helping you do that.
