Which better moves could have I made on this opening?

Hi!, I'm a Bird opening Fan. And a guy played me the From's Gambit
(1. f4, e5) I need help on what were the best moves on this position!

It is black who misplayed with 2...Qe7. The idea of the From gambit is 2...d6 3 exd6 Bxd6 with quick development and threats to the white king as compensation for the pawn. White must defend carefully, trade off pieces and aim for an endgame where the central extra pawn prevails. The central pawns d and e aid in the defence.
