Are people much stronger in blitz than rapid?

I'm around 1900 in rapid and 1600 in blitz. I get outplayed and crushed much more often in blitz.
It's not a huge difference in my level in the time controls since I experience this between 10+0 (rapid) and 5+3 (blitz), which is really not a drastic difference of time control.

I know I'm weaker in faster time controls, because I didn't play chess for a long time and now being 30yo+ I don't see stuff very fast. But I wouldn't expect to get more often completely crushed positionnally in faster time controls. What's going on?
Maybe you;ve been playing cheaters? lol I don't know how you get posittionally crushed in a blitz game.
When people make just obviously better strategy decisions in blitz games than in rapid games, I feel something is wrong, hence my question.

I'm not sure accusing people of cheating is constructive at all.

Are there stats of the number of players playing each time control? Maybe the better players just prefer faster games online, and therefore slower time control ratings are inflated?
I've been getting owned as well, 1500 in rapid, 1300 in blitz. It's just harder because the time control is so much faster.
Maybe it is because the really strong players tend to play blitz more and that skews the whole range?
It's just that the player pool is a lot shallower for rapid bud - I always found blitz the hardest time control to play, enough time to calculate a little bit but so little time that you have to rely heavily on intuition too!
Yes, the blitz pool is stronger than the rapid one (I’m usually around 2000 blitz and 2100 rapid, though my blitz has been getting better lately and my rapid not so much!) At the lower levels especially rapid is heavily inflated. A 200pt gap is quite ordinary.
