u1200 and u1000 tournaments

Yeah the problem would be getting enough players under 1200 interested in a tournament.

In the last U1500 Rapid Area, only 14 of the 91 players were U1200: lichess.org/tournament/qWCWW3mg

Lichess has discontinued other types of tournaments, such as swiss system tournaments, due to them not being popular enough and just cluttering up the site.

I do think it would be cool if users were allowed to create a rating range when making tournaments. They could make it so that tournament would only show up for you if your rating was within that range.

In the meantime, you can always just play individual games and change the rating range to something like 800-1200
Where I can not find the tourniquets devoted to the players in Kid Mode
This is a suggestion I have made to lichess administrators myself. It would be very interesting for the development of the players. Hugs.
My 7 year old daughter, has a ranking around 1150. She did a tournament U1500. She found her opponents too strong and does not want to do any more...
@NM jposthuma isn't that the point tho? the u1500 is too strong so it discourages anyone under 1200.
@ginja makes sense. I've had a chess friend quit playing because U1500 people would beat him every time. It's more than sensible to allow tournament for actual beginners, people who are still having the experience with pieces, who are not used to how the pieces relate between each other and with the board space. Somewhere unexperienced players can play wacky and learn those things without losing every game.

@Catastrov made a strong point as well. More than 15% means tons of users. They shouldn't be hidden too ashamed to play tournaments.

why the license managers do not find the u1200 suitable.
