Do circles have no sides

I know you will make fun of this, but please read what I have to say
I think that a circle has an infinite number of sides is because of the way it is approximated using polygons. A polygon is a shape with straight sides, and the more sides it has, the closer it approximates a circle. For example, a hexagon (a polygon with six sides) can approximate a circle fairly well, while a triangle (a polygon with three sides) cannot.

However, as the number of sides in a polygon approaches infinity, the polygon becomes closer and closer to a circle, but it never actually becomes a circle. This is because a circle is a continuous curve, while a polygon is a series of straight lines.

In fact, a shape with no sides is not considered a shape at all, as it does not enclose any area.

I asked chat gpt and he said it has one side while in school they say 0 sides and I think it is inf sides

It could be both.
I agree with you. Also thought as a circle is a set of points equally distant from the centre. 4 points from the centre is a square, 5 points is an equilateral pentagon, etc.
The basic Mathematical definition of a shape is something that has a fixed outline or boundary, not necessarily "sides".
The circle is a shape and not a polygon, and as you said it's a continuous curve. If you were to take a point and consider it as a side or edge then the circle has infinite sides but if a side is a straight line then the circle has 0 sides.

Also, this reminds of thread earlier where some dude was trying to prove pi = 4 with a similar kinda concept.
lol go in a circle pool
I'm just kidding XD

According to google -A circle does not have any sides since it is not made of line segments.
Well if chat gpt says so, it must be the undisputed dog’s honest truth!
pretty sure circles dont have sides, they are made of an infinite amount of points
