Do you listen to music while playing chess? And does it impact your chess in any way?
I always listen to music, and for me it helps me to focus, although it is different from person to person whether or not you can concentrate while jamming out to some beats
My chess would lack the attention I pay to music.
Yes, it generally helps me to focus, not just with chess. Obviously it depends on the music - black metal won't help while Baroque Harpsichord music is great.
For shorter time control like bullet/blitz (and shorter rapid games) I can easily listen to music without loosing to much skill (at least it feels like so). I don't play too much classical online, but if I had to do longer calcuations I would probably not listen to my metalcore playlist...
I always do
When playing blitz with friends yes. When playing in our online classical league then no. Its 100% about the concentration in a "serious" game.
