My computer suddenly restarted and updated windows when I was playing a chess game

@Doofenshmirtz but he specifically said it's not his computer so he can't just run Linux. (otherwise why run the Windows VM at all)

Also, what is the supposed max of "holding off" updates? I have a Windows machine and have no problem to delay it for a couple of weeks until I want to reboot.

@MoistvonLipwig I couldn't tell you. I only use windows on machines I'm paid to use, and that's at work on enterprise editions where you can delay installations indefinitely, but on most versions of windows you get a few weeks grace period if you've set it up that way but there's no stopping the inevitable.
