When you try to play Bb5 but instead play Ba6 as white in the ruy lopez.
When you fall for the Noah's Ark Trap.
My previous mouse was disfunctioning. Resulting in losing 10% of my games by dropping pieces to early. It almost made me give up on lychess blaming the site.
Definitely yesterday!
I was closing in on 2250 blitz and absolutely dominated a 2450+ player, I got what I needed in the opening, middlegame and ending, was about to queen, but he fought back trying to promote his own pawn too, and I saw that I can’t stop his queening, while he can stop mine. I lost. Then Stockfish showed me that I could have played an unbelievably beautiful interference with my rook, giving it away for free, but then I can queen and then I have a skewer and win his rook and stop his queening....
The beauty of that rook interference was something else, I was sitting there wondering how in the world was I supposed to spot that. You just give away your rook for free... What pattern recognition would tip you off to play a move like that??? How can one learn to do that? LOL it’s sad...
I had strong internal rage!

Here it is: dominated a 2460+ opponent, made ZERO mistakes the entire game, except for one... missed a nice interference tactic that would win me the game.
ARRRRRRRRGGG!!!!!!!!
@Kusokosla deflection away from c8 square, but it was a nice tactic though
When you are playing the barnes defense (1. e4 f6) against a much weaker opponent and after 2. d4 (or any other move other than one that blocks the queen's d1-h5 diagonal) you play 2... g5?? in overconfidence and get checkmated on the third move. This is an extreme example, but overconfidence can cause quite some frustration.
who tf plays the barnes defense?
@A_0123456 I got mated in 3 or so the other day, I don't remember which moves but it was hilarious

I'm serious about this: why doesnt half the people look at the fact that I WON with the Barnes Defense lol?
