When are we going to stop this embarrassing situation that unsportsmanlike players can just quit a game, forcing me to wait while the clock runs down while at the same time they've already started a new game!!! Absolutely ridiculous.

I only play chess against artificial intelligence like stockfish. Playing chess against human beings in its very nature is a waste of time. JMO.

And those who are in an inferior position but sacrifice all their pieces with check just to waste your time on the clock, knowing that you'll take just a tiny bit longer to respond. It pisses me off; and I don't think it'd be acceptable behavior in a face to face game.

I don't have an issue with flagging (is that what its called?) as you're interacting with the game. But to just quit / close the tab - and then even start a new game - while I'm sat there watching it count down is just a giant FU.

Yes we can block people but why would this site want to tolerate these rude obnoxious people.

I blocked so many players having the behaviours you describe that I've been blocked myself for about 2 weeks ! (I think that was the reason why)

Just want to suggest you give players a couple of chances before blocking. Even people who try to play gentlemanly suffer from the odd innocent disconnection, someone at the door etc. cause of seeming like a ****.

I do sympathise with OP and it looks like Lichess is heading in the right direction (lots less of that behaviour compared with several years ago, in my experience).

It seems annoying, but I do appreciate the feature that allows us to claim victory after certain period of inactivity.
