Could anyone explain to me why the black Queen doesn't escape after white plays Knight xd5? Black takes the white Bishop instead and looses the Queen. Why? I don't really get the point.
The point is Bxg7 and Bxh8 for the white if black protects the queen vs ... Bxa1 and Nxe7 for the black if black don't protect the queen.
Also an important point is that Qf1, protecting g7, is failing to Nc7+ followed by Bxa3 and Nxa8.
Ok. But black could play for example Pxd5 and, yes losing then xg7 and xh8 but still preserving the Queen... But ok, I guess that's right. Thank you.
After completing the puzzle if you want to know why something doesn't work you can turn on stockfish and play the moves yourself that you are curious about and see what happens.
