Review majority of your games with Stockfish in this server. Lichess has excellent analysis and it is the reason I am playing in this server. I play bullets and always fun seeing how many tactics I miss in bullet. Reading books, learning strategies is quite inefficient if you have high chance in missing tactics.

Young brains are more of a blank slate, basically. Adults not only have to build up new connections in their mental map, but also dismantle others to a much greater extent than kids.

I don't think it is me doing anything. Try a google search, "do adults and kids learn differently." When I did this a few seconds ago, I found that a bagillion research articles exist on the topic. I mean.. I'm not a rocket scientist - just pointing out that the OP may not learn the same way that I do or in this case, in the way that another poster suggested.
compared to your other ratings, @DarcySoar I see you're already doing pretty well in solving puzzles.
what really works for me is playing correspondence games, heavily utilizing the analysis board. also other longer time controls (10+ minutes) are really helpful. just make sure to take your time in 'critical' positions and try not to hang pieces. when playing stronger opponents, don't let it get too complicated and try to exchange stuff early. (complications is where stronger players shine).

@XasperLiu ,if you don't know strategic plans, openings , endgame you will be crashed anytime by a player who knows those.And how the hell you are 2000 if you only study tactics?
