I remember from somewhere that a black plan is to make white commit pawns to b3 and f3 (by attacking the central pawns so white has to support them) then go for minor piece exchanges until there's a position of a good knight against a bad light-squared bishop... then try to win that.
I don't know how well it really works, but it can be quite helpful to have such an overall plan to stick to.
