Dark roast, always and forever. And BLACK, because I like the taste of coffee. I grind my beans every day with a hand-operated burr grinder, since I have yet to find an electric one that has a coarse enough setting. French press, 195-205º water. Good coffee takes work.
my mum bans me from coffee

When I am in Canada, I like to buy and grind my own. I mostly go for mocha blends, but sometimes an Italian blend, Lavazza or Illy.
Right now I am living in china, where real coffee is not so affordable (as if any food item in Canada has been so affordable these past 20 years), so mostly I drink instant. Fortunately there is a variety of rather drinkable Vietnamese coffee available. Yup, drinkable instant. That includes "weasel coffee", which I have to admit is a nice blend, but a little light on the caffeine for my regular morning hit. My wife calls it "cat-poop coffee", and in English it is better known as civet coffee.

All of the above, for reasons that should be obvious... :)

I like a big latte with three sugars from Costa. It was the highlight of my day when I used to drive. Even the stuff from the machine is good if it is clean and well maintained.
Mostly I'm a tea drinker, so I get a nice buzz from coffee. For me it's the hard stuff.
