I can´t know exactly the causes of his death.
I leave a link with a very good and detailed information.

I find it extremely curious, that if was a choking, the body seems so "languid". It would make more sense to have moved and to have fallen on the ground. The dishes and table look very well placed.
Choking for a piece of meat?. Ok
Heart attack, angina pectoris?. Ok
I don´t know if he died or someone helped him die.
