Well there are many ways to improve , For you [ 1100- 1200] I think you should start learning tactics . Since a quote states " chess is 90% tactics". Hence tactics are important. This might be enough to turn you from a beginner to Amateur . After that strategy and positional play comes , Learn tactics to improve and try playing rapid and classical . This is I think enough for you to improve don't care about the endgames , strategy or positional play just focus on Tactics.
