Timed out for legit aborts

Got timed out for 9 mins which I assume must be for the three games I just aborted. Two of these were the same provisional player who I told I'd rather not play until he achieves a legit rating (he had only 1 game played); and the third was for a game I didn't realize was Casual and not Rated. If I'm gonna be timed out for that I can't help but feel these rules are a bit draconian.

Someone having a provisional rating is not a valid reason for aborting. I'm sure you are glad that everyone didn't adopt this stupid, pointless attitude when you were new and seeking opponents. Lichess might as well shut down new registrations all together, if the attitude you describe is a valid one. But it's not a valid one.

Sometimes I wonder how chess players with respectable ratings, as OP, have such unreasonable ideas.
But then I don't.

I target the lobby for the 1500? To find out what their made of. But that's just me.

The fact you did it to a new player just makes it double illegitimate (quadruple, considering you did it twice instead of blocking him). Don't be an asshole to new players!

Do not start the game,if you have to abort it.

How are provisional players supposed to get a "real" rating, if all their opponents abort all the games?
