Opponent out of time, result is draw

Hi, I was playing this game, where the opponent ran out of time, but match was declared to be draw. Any idea why? This seems counterintuitive.

When you are left with only your king and your opponent flags, the game is declared as draw. Cheers!

How did the king go near the other king?

@Dragon-Emperor It was Atomic chess, and it was a variant, so it could get to the other king. Fairly simple!!!
