realistic 2000-2200 (expert level) engine

Does anyone here know a good expert level engine (2000-2200)? I think it's vital to play against stronger players. If you are a class A player (1800-2000), you will have a balanced performance against players 1800-2000, you will win more against class B players (1600-1800) and you will lose more against expert players (2000-2200).

The rating system inhibits stronger players from playing against weaker players because of the risk. So the only way to improve is by mastering your level.

In poker, players are free to play at any level! But in poker when you play a level above yours you will be literally paying for that privilege. Just like some poker players I would really be willing to pay to play against players above my level if I had money lol.

So one solution to this is to play against engines, but I have not yet found an engine that simulates low ratings in an acceptable way.

I'm sure if I could play against stronger players (but not much stronger) I could improve my game just by playing! But, as everyone knows, these players refuse even an innocent rematch, imagine if they want to play 10, 20 games!
try stockfish lvl 6 or 7 on lichess (play against a computer). this is roughly what you want. keep in mind engines are bad with pawn plays (exept leela) so that will never be like playing a player of that level. still useful tho
Maybe try playing on FICS (I suggest using Babaschess as GUI). There are couple bots in 1900-2400 range or try old Chessmaster 9k or 10th Edition. Its engine 'The King' isnt the strongest and quite old but there are a lot of personalities styles to choose
I find that Shredder 13 or Hiarcs 14 are the most "Human-like" to play against. With the Hiarcs Engine you can limit the elo to match you and with Shredder after several games, the engine will match your elo accordingly.
