Chesspieces

Have any of you a suggestion of where I can buy chess pieces?

Fancy stuff. Incredibly nice ! Good choice.

Those look like the pieces that the top GMs play with, whenever I see photos from e.g. the tourney at St.Louis this year.

What is the name of that set ?
Checked on my email. from 08/2009.
FKS400 Fierce Knight Staunton Chess Set in Sheesham & Boxwood - 4" King $89.95

There's a few tiny little cracks on 2 pieces. Extra white queen, and a pawn. From playing blitz probably. They're triple weighted, and crack is always near base where the wood putty/smoothing over is (where they inserted the weights). They look the same after 6 yrs.

I'd like to try out 3.75". I would probably prefer that for blitz.
Rairden: your set is absolutely gorgeous. just two questions: how big are squares on your chess board? do you have (or did you have) problem with queen, which is kinda small in comparison with king and bishop? with taller queen these pieces will be perfect
Moliik, I didn't realize my queen was too small. I think it's fine.

And the squares are 2.25" (or I measure 57.5mm)

I was wondering if my set fell within USCF specs, and they do.

King base: 42.5 mm
King height: 99.5 mm
pawn base: 32 mm

It's close to the 75% rule.
king base diameter to square ratio: 42.5/57.5 = .73913
king base to height ratio: 42.5/49.5 = .42714 (supposed to be 40-50%)
