No, here people are complaining because a lot of players leave with no reason but sore losing attitude.
Which, to take your own argument, would not be seen in real tournament, or would result in a ban as well.
Again, it is just a warning. take it easy and keep playing.
One cap does not fit all. The secret, as yet undiscovered, is to work out who is being unsporting and who just couldn't find a move. Answers on a postcard...
I dont see how this applies to Blitz games. I just got a ban warning whilst being +6.1 up in a 5+0 game because I thought on a move for 53 seconds. How is it justified to receive a warning for being banned from lichess?
I think letting someone wait for an hour who because you are about to be checkmated is a whole other league where something like that might be justified..
get rid of the warning. get rid of banning, i should be able to use as much time as i want for a move
I love the warning.
My only suggestion would be to write the warning in big bold red letters, make the screen flash brightly, and play a threatening loud alarm noise.
#33 : it is just a warning! Of course there are some mistakes (I also got warned once or twice), but you won't get banned cause you are a fair player. Those who rage quit every other game will get a certain amount of warning and get banned.
Question to admin, by curiosity : how many warnings does it takes to get what kind of ban?
This message is all very well for players who just don't move for spite. But I just got this message because Lichess server went down and when reconnected I had run out of time.
This is frustrating enough, because when your game is frozen, you just accept that as part of playing on-line chess. It happens sometimes. And sometimes it works out that you lose a game from a winning position.
It is bad enough losing ranking points in this case, which is infuriating enough alone, but when you then receive a warning from the website because you let time run out, it is absolutely adding insult to injury ... literally.
I think if the reason for these time infractions is the website or server itself, then the game should be declared null and void. Not criticizing the player with warnings.
Regis74 face the undisputed truth, this warnings/bans is huge misstep and sooner it's gone, the better.
undisputed truth ahahah. Your opinion ain't universal. As it's been said alreasy, this stuf was already on lichess, but there was just no written warning. And you always managed to play without any inconvenience. ;)
Again : have you been banned?
