lichess.org/forum/lichess-feedback/who-is-l-____-l#1I've spent a bit of time thinking about it, and just searched for my original thread, with the intent of asking again.
The original forum was "Feedback."
Closure of that topic, by an admin or moderator, was improper in the first place.
There is a definite problem with the LiChess systems and/or software if a player can join tournaments, multiple tournaments simultaneously, but never play in any of them. Further, when I check a user's profile throughout tournaments, there is a green dot if the player is online. This player's "dot" is not green, but blank most of the time when I check it -- meaning "offline," but joined to a tournament, and not playing games.
My first suspicion is that this is some sort of administrative or moderator account. And, if that's the case, then there's nothing wrong with it being joined, monitoring, but not an active participant.
On the other hand, the lack of being able to articulate such usage -- an active player account that also doubles as some sort of automation tool -- clearly means that LiChess is not being honest and forthcoming about the rules it puts forth for all other active accounts, players and participants. (Which is then, in turn, rather suspect...)
My only other suspicion, outside of an admin or moderator account, is that it is a duplicate account for a highly rated GM or well known person in the chess world.
But the latter speculation doesn't account for how a player who is offline is able to join tournaments and never play in those tournaments, which then leads back to there being something wrong with LiChess' software systems.
@Roaringroars21 -- Thanks for being (at least) the second person to observe and post about this. Maybe it gets a response, or LiChess fixes its broken systems???
