How to stop playing bullet and blitz

@BlindfoldedNewbie Nope bullet won't help in the long run cause you would play too impulsively in longer time controls then and play reaction chess rather than strategic chess. So bullet is not useful for improvement. What improvement you can achieve in 100 games of rapid or classical, you'd be taking 10000 or more playing bullet and also may not actually improve by doing so.
You can improve time control, hand device skill and perhaps concentration and memory of some patterns but time control, a game under time pressure circumstances for sure.
So It is needed a minimum.
But you need to switch gears and prepare for the game knowings its peculiarities.
Unfortunately playing any amount of blitz and bullet games is a trap. It is addicting to play fast, and even giving in to any amount of really fast gameplay is bad. By playing blitz and bullet you will be less inclined to play slower games. And, if you have the strength to force yourself to only play 5 blitz games a day as suggested by the other people, then do it. But, that is not practical. I also had that problem, and I didn’t see any improvement either. So I just stopped playing bullet and blitz games. I also didn’t have the time to play hour long games. So instead I play rapid games. If you want to improve play rapid games and use chess puzzles. With rapid games you can still maintain some of the fast paced gameplay that is enjoyed by blitz and rapid games, but you have more than enough time to calculate and make full decisions. That is how I have gone from not having any idea how to play chess about 2 years ago to being a 2000 rapid player. I have recently started dabbling in blitz games again though I think it was a moment of weakness cause by the pressure to play in blitz tournaments like in your case. I don’t think you should play blitz games until you are at least a rapid 2000. You need to know how to think before you move too quickly. Even then I would say play blitz games sparsely. (Take my advice with a grain of salt as I am only a 2000 rapid player with 2 years of chess experience, though I still think there is merit to what I am saying regardless)
I finished third in a tournament and got a cup!!!!
So I will keep my advice, It seems improvement in bullet is a consequence of longer time controls but I don't really mind, I won't give it much thought and enjoy the game.
The question is that there is a lot of pattern recognition in small time so could be good not just for time pressure time control but to gain confidence in quick decisions
but whatever bullet is bullet.
Here is the tournament!!!!!

Thanks for your feedback @tobytigernavy2
I just read your post, I think in your case you could dabble with blitz and bullet once a week since you have a lot of disparity in your ratings to become a round player!!
Cheers and chess.
