You played this well. Your opponent was less inspired. 6 Ng3: the knight is not perticularly well placed on g3 - R. J. Fischer.
9 Bg5 makes no sense: it was better to occupy the open e-file. 10 Be3 admits the mistake, but clogs the e-file.
You gradually improved your position. Well done.

The main idea of this line is to promote c5 at the right time. For example, here: 6. Ng3 e6 7. Bc4 (7. Bd3) and 7...c5!=.
And about 17...g5?!: too sharply, in similar situations 17... Nh5 or even 17... Bxf4 would be better.
