Winter marathon's date

Hello, I have been here for almost 3 years by now, and lemme just say and I really like the marathon thing in this chess site.
So, I usually spend 6-12 hours in marathon (except for this autumn one. I lost to 1800s eight times in a row, so I quitted), like 2 months ago, the summer marathon, when I played 350+ games (of course, it was bullet).

But, for me, who is South korean, this winter marathon's date is on wednesday. But as a student, I have school for several hours (I already miss 2 hours because of academy) on weekdays. So, even though I might play for 1-2 hours, it is literally impossible for me to get in top 500 (top 3000 I predict).

You're probably going to think, "Hey, marathon is just a fun event, just enjoy it, why so care about that online trophy?". But, chess is one of my main hobbies, and that's one of my solutions to solve stress. Also, I wanted that marathon trophy for more than a year, and getting it would be a really great achievement for me.

It seems like lichess chose this day because nearest weekend has Christmas on it, so it might affect how many players will be there (marathon). But, why not make the marathon a week before? that wouldn't change the title ('2022' winter marathon), and I don't see any problem with it...

-----------------------
*this is not only my problem, because I'm pretty sure that many people have the same problem like me, since there are a lot of students in this chess site
* because I am not really familiar with this language, there would be some grammatical errors in this post. But please don't correct it and post it, as long as it doesn't confuse what I am trying to say. Send those errors in DM
*I don't think this will actually change the marathon date, I'm just sharing my thoughts about this. But I hope this suggestion to be accepted!
But you know many people could be favouring this date instead of that.

Decisions concerning a large community are never anonymous. This date must have been decided carefully, or maybe it is just always like last time, which is not a problem too. It's okay if you don't get to play the marathon properly, you can always try your luck in shields or daily/weekly/monthly/yearlies.
>you can always try your luck in shields or daily/weekly/monthly/yearlies.

I admit that this date might be better for more people, but about the sentence above, that is one of the reasons I posted this thing. All the tournaments mentioned above starts at 2am for me... and Lichess mega team battles also starts at 1am for me too. I might be awake at 1 am, but still, it's basically impossible to participate fully in those tournaments.
At your current elo you barely have a chance for Top 500 anyway.

I tried twice by now, and missed "closely" but both times it was clear that I would be downranked more and more by 2200+ players and playing opps 300 points above your rating in an agonic state after 20 hours is just no more fun (so I quit). I want the trophy too, but I realized that I need a consistenly better rating! (2100 or 2050 would be a good base)

these don't have trophies

Yeah, ik that... but I am 2000-2150 on bullet, and started to improve in chess recently... so maybe a better chance by winter? 3+0 is my best in blitz
I did the winter marathon 2021 with an initial rating of 1925 and even skyrocketed to 2050, I was in top 300 at best and was pushed out of top 500 two hours before the end.
Yesterday I started at 1950 and reached 2040 again but I couldn't hold it at all. I was even around Top 150 for a while, but the lead to 500th place dropped with every hour and I just could not score anymore so I stopped already when I was pushed down to 400th.
Also 2100 bullet is different from 2100 blitz. I have 2100 bullet for a while but I get endurance problems when I have to play it for long.

Further, you reached 1900 blitz just very recently.

I just got 339th in the Autumn marathon. It required sleep deprivation, no lunch and lots of tea. But it is possible. Even at my elo. I had no win streaks. And I think my win rate was 20% or something. Was it depressing? Yes. Was it worth it? Also yes.
I didn't say Top 500 were *impossible* at 1900. I said: *barely possible*. I checked at what ratings people achieved Top 500 in the past, only because of that I was motivated to try it myself, but these are exceptions. You had the same opp average as me but an incredible amount of games (and while you were not 100% zerk, it still was quite a lot)

I have a tip for you: Don't stop with a marathon when you lose 8 games or 10 games in a row, just continue with it when ur still in top 500 or/and there is enough time
You got 200 points 2 days ago and was ranked 590, and you only need 15 more points to enter the top 500. So i dont understand why you quit.
