Can I stay silent as creator of a tournament?

Dear all

I'd like to organize a tournament for kids and don't want to play myself. Can I stay silent having created the tournament?

Thanks for your reply.

A.V.
There is no obligation for a tournament director to participate in the tournament. In fact, it is a very rare sight for them to participate if they are also directing the tournament for several reasons:

* If a player has a question during their game, the TD has to get up from their game to assist.
* The player playing against the TD might feel uncomfortable if they feel like the TD has violated a rule.
* If the TD is the last game going in a round the other players will have to wait for them to finish then complete the next round of pairings. Later in a tournament it can be tricky to pair by hand (if that's what you're doing) in such a way that players don't play anyone they've already played.

So yes :)
Thanks, but I meant on lichess. If I create a tournament, I enter with my user name in the tournament. Can I remind silent and not play during the tournament?
