How does one get a FIDE rating.

Hey guys,I hear a lot of sayings concerning how lichess ratings are not really a true representation of the quantification of a player's strength.
Most people say it's rather inflated and that FIDE Ratings tend to be more accurate.
So how does one acquire a FIDE rating and does it cost money?
@ONE_KOBO There are different types of FIDE ratings. The type you are asking about are acquired by playing over-the-board games in FIDE tournaments. And yes, it costs money - especially when it comes to acquiring a FIDE title. You can get a FIDE rating in your own country but it's not possible to play locally and become a FIDE titled player. You need to travel abroad and play internationally to prove your strength in a larger pools with other FIDE players. So it can get expensive for those with talent and aspiration.
Yeah, didn't seem like there was that much to like about "on profile."
Well, I think you beat fide rated players to get fide rating, that’s how I got mine
You don't even have to beat someone, you only need one draw out of five games against FIDE rated players in FIDE rated tournaments, provided that the performance out of these five games exceeds 1000.
